So I have made it to Lewa. It was a long journey. My flight from Heathrow left on time. I was absolutely stunned when I got to see the Alps from the air. How magnificent! I only had a 45 minutes gap between my flight into Zurich and then my flight to NBO. I made it, although was one of the last ones on the plane :) I must say Swiss airlines are high in my books. Everything went very smoothly and very pleasant. I arrived into NBO on time, and made a Bline to the busses that were taking us to immigration. I speed walked to immigration and was the first served. I was through the airport in a record 38 minutes time. I saw no increase in police at all. My driver was outside waiting and he took me to Mennonite Guest house. I had a lovely room, but most of all I enjoyed the bed. My driver picked me up from MGH at 830 and we made our way to Nanyuki. The mitatu (bus for about 12) now have speed regulations that only allow them to go to 80kph. At 78kph the car starts to beep at you. At 80 it screams. Needless to say, Karanja drove at about 78 the entire time. So a lovely beeping is still in my ears. We stopped in Nanyuki and I stocked up on supplies. Namely: Drosty Hoff Box wine and Biltong. I then bought a dongle for my computer, but it turns out at lewa it doesn't work. So I have walked over to headquarters to use the WIfi. I am surrounded by a few others doing the same thing. When I got to Lewa, I arrived at just the right time to catch a car going towards headquarters. I caught the ride and ended up at where I needed to be.

Swiss Alps via Swiss Air |
There is a girl here from Marwell zoo who is working on her masters. She seems sweet. She mentioned that 2 other RVC students were just here. All the staff remember me. Carol (the one who takes care of me) gave me a huge hug.
I got to sit outside and read for a bit after getting here. I looked up and within my view line were Burchell's zebra, impala, gazelle. an elephant, a monkey, and the sounds of countless birds. It was breathtaking.
I don't know what I start with tomorrow. I am going to get up and then Mutinda will come and tell me.
Well I am going to head back to my room. I am going to read a bit before dinner. I am a bit tired from all the journey., but very much looking forward to tomorrow.
